Who actually does the cleaning?

Booking and prices

An independent business that you choose. The marketplace lists them, shows you what each one has declared and what they charge, and passes your request to the ones who take on that kind of work. It does not clean, and it does not employ anyone.

When do I know the price?

Booking and prices

Before anyone starts, and from the cleaner rather than from a rate card of ours. Cleaners set their own number in their own currency and it is shown to you on their listing and again in your request before you agree to anything.

What is a guide band, and why is it not a quote?

Booking and prices

A guide band is a published range for a property size, and it exists so you have a starting point rather than a blank form. Australia is the only market with published bands, so in the other regions the band you see is that one, adjusted for the cost level where you are and converted, and it is labelled as converted wherever it appears.

How do I know a cleaner is insured or checked?

Checks and documents

Because their card states what they declared, and states it as declared. The marketplace does not obtain or verify insurance or a police check, and it does not describe a declared document as a verified one. Where nothing has been declared, the card says that instead of staying silent.

Is a police check required for the work I am booking?

Checks and documents

For bond and end of lease work, yes, and the cleaner declares it. Elsewhere it is not required and the listing shows whether one was declared, so the answer to the question is visible either way rather than only when it is positive.

Does the marketplace hold my money?

Money and receipts

No. You pay the cleaner for the work. The platform's own fee is taken from the cleaner's side of the agreement, and it is itemised on the cleaner's own record of the job rather than hidden in your figure.

What record do I get?

Money and receipts

Your booking carries a timeline of what happened and when: quoted, awarded, started, finished, and the receipt lines for the work. That record is the thing a bond dispute is argued from, which is why it is written at the time rather than reconstructed later.

What happens if I have to cancel?

Cancellations and problems

Record the cancellation on the booking. Both sides see the same timeline and a late cancellation is marked as late on the record, which is visible to the next client who looks at that cleaner and to the cleaner who looks at you. Nothing is charged automatically.

Something went wrong. Where does it go?

Cancellations and problems

Raise it against the booking so the complaint sits next to the timeline it is about, then escalate to your national consumer body if it is not resolved. The contact page reaches the operator directly.

What does the platform take?

For cleaners

A quarter of the agreed price, so the cleaner keeps 75%. That is the whole fee. There is no listing fee, no lead fee and no charge for quoting, and the split is shown as a worked example on the page for cleaners.

How do I get listed?

For cleaners

Join, publish a listing, and declare your insurance and your business number. The console then tells you exactly what is missing and what each missing line is worth, in points, so the next step is never a guess.

How does the matching actually work?

How the numbers work

It is a ranked query, not a model. The score adds fixed points for a declared document, points for a rating that has reviews behind it, a small credit for volume so one review cannot outrank a track record, and a bonus when the cleaner covers the city you asked about. The three closest fits are shown with their reasons on the card, and the full list stays underneath them.

Where do the review numbers come from?

How the numbers work

From the reviews themselves. The digest counts what the text says: how many mention a delay, how many describe the finish, how many mention contact, and how many mention what it cost. Each figure prints the sample it came from, and a listing with fewer than three reviews is labelled as too few to conclude from rather than given a score.

What does the room reading do with my photographs?

How the numbers work

It measures them in your browser: brightness, luminance spread, how much of the frame sits on an edge, how many hues are in use, and how much is dark. Those five numbers produce the estimate. No photograph is uploaded, nothing is sent anywhere to be looked at, and the page prints its own measurements next to the verdict so you can disagree with it.

What data does the site keep?

How the numbers work

The booking record, the messages on it, and the five-number summary of a room reading if you choose to save one. It does not keep your photographs. The full statement is in the privacy section of the terms.

What holds here

Cleaners are independent contractors. They hold their own public liability insurance and set their own hourly rate.

A police check is required for bond and end of lease work, and the cleaner declares it. The platform does not obtain the certificate.

Your rights sit under the Australian Consumer Law, with the ACCC as the national regulator (accc.gov.au).

GST at 10% where the business is registered for it. Bond cleans are quoted against the agent's entry report rather than by the hour.
